Lauren Ali joined CMRRA in November 2018 as Operations Manager, and we are pleased to take this opportunity to formally introduce her to our clients.
Lauren is happy to be part of the CMRRA team and looks forward to making a difference. Her role continues to evolve, but one of her priorities is to work with the various teams to help find innovative ways for them to work better and more efficiently. Her drive and motivation as Operations Manager is to see processes streamlined so that all the key deliverables during the distribution cycles are completed seamlessly, leaving more time for innovation and relationship building.
Lauren earned her undergraduate degree in Information Technology Management from Ryerson University in 2004. She is no stranger to the music industry, having worked in the performance rights side of the business for over 20 years. Lauren’s past industry experience focused on maintaining repertoire and publishing agreements before taking on roles as Business Analyst and then as Project Manager, where she undertook business process reengineering and project standards initiatives. Lauren is proud also to have served as Privacy Officer for her previous employer, in addition to her normal responsibilities. She took a hiatus from the music industry in 2013 and entered the commercial real estate industry to work as a process improvement associate.
Lauren loves that she is able to work alongside the management team at CMRRA and raves about how approachable, humble, and down-to-earth everyone on the team is. In her current role, Lauren interacts with people at all levels, both within and external to CMRRA, and she loves it!
Outside of her professional life, Lauren switches to mom mode with her 11-(“going on 16”)-year-old daughter. Attached at the hip, Lauren and her daughter travel once or twice a year to a tropical destination, and Lauren is very proud of the young lady her daughter is quickly becoming.
On the music front, Lauren grew up in a household where both her parents and her brother played the piano, and she wishes she had that “natural” musical talent. She loves everything about Josh Groban and says that she could listen to him every day.
