Marianne Anderson needs no introduction to most of the CMRRA music publisher clients. As Manager of Client Relations, she spends her days talking to our publishers and connecting them with the information they need at CMRRA.
Marianne studied Music Industry Arts and Office Administration at Fanshawe College in London. She graduated in 1996 and started here at CMRRA that same year as a Royalty Administrator. In 1998, she was promoted to supervisor of Royalty Inquiries which later expanded to include supervisory duties for Royalty Distribution.
In 2004 Marianne earned the title of Supervisor of Online and Tariff licensing and in 2007 was promoted to Manager of Client Relations. This role was created as Marianne saw a strong need for someone to adopt a client perspective on a day to day basis. She is devoted to getting our clients the royalties they have earned.
Marianne’s daily work activities see her engaged in client outreach, and updating our clients on new business developments. Most recently, she’s been excited to share news about the new CMRRA Direct.
Marianne is able to empathize with client needs and is proud to use her skills as a relationship builder. She enjoys the diversity of the clientele with whom she engages and the opportunities she gets to speak with groups at events and at music management schools. She is fascinated by the interesting group of colleagues here at CMRRA. At the centre of Marianne’s life are her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending as much time as she can with her family, gardening in warmer months and watching live music. In some of her free time, she volunteers as an auxiliary police officer in her home community.
Marianne appreciates a wide variety of music. She admires Neil Young and his incredible song writing, listens to Pink Floyd to unwind and has always loved Metallica. One of the first albums she purchased as a preteen was a Metallica album! As daunting of a task as it may seem, she aspires to create a drug prevention presentation/short film in the coming years.
