Yesterday, the Brit Awards hosted a major indoor and in-person live music event, leaving music fans and industry workers with the hope that more in-person live music events will soon follow.
The O2 venue in London, UK, had a limited capacity of 4000 people, which required a negative COVID-19 test to gain entry, as well as after the event, giving the world an idea of what our live music experiences may look like going forward.
Despite the limited capacity, the Brit Awards made the experience accessible to all international viewers when performances by The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Rag‘n’Bone Man & P!nk, Coldplay (and more) were streamed for audiences around the world through their online social platforms.
To pay tribute to the National Health Services, Rag‘n’Bone Man & P!nk played in honour of those serving tirelessly throughout the pandemic.
Taylor Swift also made history that night when she accepted the Global Icon Award, making her the first female to receive this prize.
The event paved the way for a healthy return to the live music business, and let us celebrate songwriters, artists, producers, industry professionals and music fans coming together for a historic evening.
