CMRRA welcomes the government’s commitment to extend the duration of copyright for sound recordings and performers’ performances. We are optimistic that this first step will open the door to a lengthened term of copyright for musical compositions as well, as Canada looks to bring its copyright laws in line with those of our major international trading partners.
