This month’s Front of House is Stephanie Chestnut, our Client Services Administrator, celebrating 5 years at CMRRA. Her day-to-day responsibilities involve various tasks such as processing affiliations, communicating with clients, handling double claims, and more.
Congratulations on reaching the five-year milestone at CMRRA! What accomplishments are you most proud of during your five years here?
Thank you, it’s hard to believe five years have gone by. The accomplishment I am most proud of is making the move from Online Licensing Administrator to Client Services Administrator. I worked hard to become proficient in the Online team and was ready for a new challenge. I am proud to have been able to make the switch to something new within CMRRA.
You started at CMRRA as an Online Licensing Administrator and moved into the role of Client Services Administrator. What does your day-to-day look like now and how is it different?
Within the Client Services Administrator role, my day-to-day is varied depending on where we are within the distribution process, and the types of updates that can be made in our system at different stages of the quarterly cycle of work. The workflows in the Membership Services team involve a manner of research and coordination to create new agreement records in our system, decipher double claim situations, apply representation updates, termination notices and more. Other day-to-day tasks involve processing new client affiliations, tracking CWR discrepancies in incoming work registrations that may require additional action, corresponding with clients, and working on items for the IPI (Interested Parties Information) registry with SUISA. Work in the Online team focused on updates to musical works and linking these to recordings and usage reported by the DSPs, while in the Client Services area, the work is much more focused on maintaining the publishing and agreement details.
During the summer, how do you spend your free time?
I spend most of my free time during the summer in the park, reading, lying in the sun, listening to music, hanging out with friends or simply people/dog watching. I also enjoy finding free activities in the city like biking trails, or street festivals. Cottage weekends and beach days (the more swimming the better) are also special summer activities that I enjoy.
Can you recommend any new or upcoming artists or bands that you’ve recently discovered?
I tend to become a creature of habit with my music listening and enjoy shuffling through my curated library. Recently I have been listening to a lot of James Blake, Lianne La Havas, Fidlar, Andy Shauf, Blondshell (she is a newer artist) and Taylor Swift.
