TORONTO, Canada, Monday, May 4, 2020 – The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA) , Canada’s leading mechanical reproduction rights licensing collective, announced today that they have made a donation to support the CCMA Foundation and the Unison Benevolent Fund.
“On March 16, as we transitioned to working from home, our CMRRA team successfully distributed over 14 million dollars in music royalties. I am extremely proud of our staff’s diligent work during this global pandemic and, with our June distribution on the horizon, we are focused and determined to keep the money flowing to our music publisher and self-published songwriter clients as scheduled,” said Paul Shaver, President, CMRRA. “During this global pandemic, we see the music industry stepping up in a variety of ways, our donation to the CCMA Foundation and Unison Benevolent Fund uses our operating budget to directly impact the music industry right now. Taking care of our own backyard is important to us. We rely on each other.”
