Toronto, ON – The Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA) is proud to announce the election of Vincent Degiorgio as President of its Board of Directors.
Vincent brings a wealth of music publishing knowledge and experience to the role of CMPA President. Currently, he is President of Cymba Music Publishing, a division of Chapter 2 Productions Inc. Formed originally as a production and publishing house, Cymba has become one of the most active and creative music publishing entities in Canada with unprecedented global reach and a focus on the international market for recorded music and synch. It is home to a roster of talented songwriters, including Davor Vulama, Aileen de la Cruz, Ari Rhodes, Ian Smith, Olivia Wik and award-winning Dennis Ellsworth.
In addition to being the President of Cymba Music Publishing, Vincent is also a multi-million dollar selling songwriter, who’s most recent work with Dutch pop star Caro Emerald eclipsed the two million album threshold not long ago. He has served on the Board of the Songwriters Association of Canada (SAC) and continues to serve on the Board of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and on the Advisory Board of Musicians’ Rights Organizations Canada (MROC).
Vincent will be taking the place of Jodie Ferneyhough, who has held the position of CMPA President for the past 13 years. The Board thanks Jodie for his continued dedication to CMPA and its membership. Jodie will remain on the CMPA board as Vice President moving forward.
“I’m thrilled to step into the role of CMPA President. I can’t wait to work alongside CMPA staff and fellow board members to help steer the organization into 2017 and beyond. Jodie has been a tremendous president and I want to continue his great work,” remarked Vincent Degiorgio.
Other CMPA board appointments include Jennifer Mitchell to Secretary and Catherine Jones to Treasurer. Furthermore, CMPA extends a warm welcome to Jeff McGrath, Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Reservoir Media Management, who will be joining the CMPA Board as a Director.
