CMRRA is owned by SXWorks, a subsidiary of SoundExchange. As part of its acquisition of CMRRA, SXWorks established a Canadian Publishers Committee (CPC) to oversee and maintain the advancement of the interests of music publishers’ business in Canada. The CPC provides direction on Canadian advocacy, tariff and rate-setting activities, and continues to foster and leverage the favourable environment in which CMRRA has attained some of the highest royalty rates in the world to the benefit of all of its music publisher clients.
The members of the CPC are appointed by the Board of the Music Publishers Canada (MPC). MPC is a membership-based organization, founded in 1949, that ensures the views of music publishers working in Canada are heard. It is its mission to create business opportunities for its members and to promote their interests and those of their song writing partners through advocacy, communication, and education. The committee is composed of the members below.
