CMRRA is pleased to announce the following staff promotions effective as of May 1.
Sandra Nettleton – Director, Licensing and Royalties
It is with great pleasure that we are able to recognize the efforts and dedication of Sandra with this promotion to the position of Director. Sandra is one of our most tenured employees, having started with CMRRA in 1990. Throughout her years with CMRRA in various roles, she has steadily proven her commitment to the job, and always exhibited a willingness to take on greater responsibilities. Her previous role as Manager, Licensing and Royalties was the first time we combined these two areas under the oversight of a single individual, and Sandra has expanded her knowledge and insight to be able to address the panorama of issues that spans the licensing and royalties landscape. Sandra’s dedication and knowledge has been integral to the many facets of the IT infrastructure conversion project, in particular ensuring the quality of the royalty processing and distribution components of the system. Throughout this process, Sandra has acquired valuable skills and a deep understanding of our new Licensing Distribution System (LDS) system, which will enable her to lead the team forward and provide the support needed to complete the conversion tasks that remain. Sandra’s commitment and unflagging enthusiasm for ensuring that the job gets done right has earned her the recognition and promotion to this new role.
Michael Mackie – Manager, Repertoire
Michael’s tenure with CMRRA dates back to 1997. After developing a base of knowledge in the licensing department, he moved into the area of Copyright and Membership Services as the Supervisor of that group, and has worked diligently to develop a thorough knowledge of all aspects of these areas. This has resulted in a broad understanding of the issues related to catalogue ownership and administration, works and contributor data, along with the management of counterclaims. Michael has demonstrated a commitment to all tasks under his supervision, and developed procedures to ensure that priority works are being addressed. His efforts to prioritize the thousands of work updates performed on a weekly basis have resulted in more targeted and increased invoicing of online services each quarter. In addition to this, Michael, too, has proven himself invaluable in CMRRA’s LDS implementation, ensuring that the new system supports the various facets of our client base, as well as taking the helm of the conversion efforts associated with CWR file loading, which will be rolled out soon in LDS. Michael’s title will also be changing from the former Copyright and Membership Services designation to the new, simplified term Repertoire.
Melissa Dandeno – Assistant Manager, Licensing Operations
Melissa joined CMRRA in 2006, and has over the years developed a keen understanding of CMRRA’s licensing processes, specifically in relation to the major record companies. Through her most recent role of Supervisor, Major Label Licensing, she has contributed to the process of implementing new DDEX-based licensing messages with the major labels, and gained experience throughout our IT infrastructure conversion project to get these new external processes, as well as internal procedures and workflows, up and running in LDS. She continues to manage and enhance the prioritization of the licensing workflows, to ensure that targets are met, as well as expanding upon the work required to analyze and report on label licensing performance. Her commitment to these goals is evident, and we are very pleased to promote her to this new role.
Pamela Nichol – Senior Royalty Administrator
Pam has been with CMRRA since 2005, and in her tenure here has grown her knowledge base immensely and has taken on increasingly complex royalty tasks. She possesses a deep knowledge of procedures and protocols related to the royalty distribution process, and has evolved into an invaluable member of the Royalties team. We are very pleased to assign to Pam the position of Senior Royalty Administrator.
